Description

This album comprises pieces of different styles, characters and atmospheres

From Mary's Little Reverie to Apollo's Laurels, via Indian Blue, this album comprises pieces of different levels; may you find as much enjoyment in playing or listening to them, as I had pleasure writing them!

You will find more lyrical pieces in another collection entitled Six Songs without Words, published by the same editions.

April Daffodils

A small, simple piece full of freshness, like an April daffodil

Apollo's Laurels

A piece to celebrate victories and pay tribute to the noble laurel tree (Laurus Nobilis) - a tree whose leaf is edible and represents the nobility of the coronation of Olympus.

Mary's Little reverie

Charming little student (Marie): she was only 6 or 7 years old when I wrote this piece for her to play in a recital whose date was fast approaching... and it was a success!

Au Jeu - Tribute to players

This piece is especially intended for the staunch supporters of the Montreal CH, since I wrote it and presented it during a national competition to find a new musical theme for Hockey Night in Canada! I dedicate it to all fervent fans of the Montreal CH as well as to their valiant heroes on blade skates..

Summer Ragtime

This piece recreates the holiday atmosphere during which young and old indulge in the attractions and pleasures of Louisiana.

Indian Blue

A magic carpet, commanded by the flute of a snake charmer, propels us into an imaginary journey, from Asia to America, before peacefully returning to its native Indian home.

Celtic Landscape

This short lively piece, combining baroque with more modern balladry, invites you to dance for joy against the backdrop of a Celtic landscape.

Monkey Swing-Singerie

This is a humorous piece, peppered with many deliberate "false notes" - just for laughs!

Suite 1 - Intrata

The modal opening, with dissonant harmonies, is reminiscent of a wind ensemble.

Suite 1 - Choral

A continuous song whose ample and loose melodic line is supported by seductive, although discreet, harmonies.

Suite 1 - Danse de cour

Courtly dances? It's a day of celebration and everyone is invited: peasants, noble ladies and young ladies, with their energetic dances and graceful steps. Even the little “doggie” becomes an acrobat for the occasion.

Cradle Song

Through this simple little piece, a few strokes of the magic wand will lift you gently on a cloud into a land of dreams, childish circles and shooting stars.

Tease

This mischievous little piece, where rhythmic cheerfulness bursts forth, will transport you with rhythm and good nature into a large carousel by the sea.

Cookie Dance

Have you ever seen cookies dance? In any case, certainly not for long because they tend to disappear quite quickly!
